Bana Geet Gond Art Earrings
Bana Geet Gond Art Earrings
THE GOND LEGEND
Bana is a 3 string musical instrument of the indigenous Gond tribe of Madhya Pradesh, virtually unknown outside its local area, its performers now on the verge of extinction. The Bana performers, skilled in the art of playing the Bana instrument, are storytellers, patrons of the arts and craft. The tales sung by the bards preserve the rich mythology and beliefs of the indigenous Gondi tribe.
THE JEWELLERY
A gorgeous set of earrings, this ensemble depicts the richness and diversity of Gond art. The Bana instrument forms the central piece in detailed Gond art pattern with bells / ghungroos on the bow styled to bring alive the birds sitting in a row and pleasantly chirping like a song.
All pieces are crafted in India and hand painted by artists in our studio in Mumbai, under small batch production.
