THE LEGEND

Gond folklore tells of celestial elephants traversing the heavens and Earth at will. In one tale, a winged elephant descended upon a village, causing chaos. Desperate villagers appealed to their deity for help. Heeding their call, the Lord intervened, severing the elephant's wings as it slumbered. Thus the once flying giant became earthbound. This ancient story reminds us that even the mightiest creatures were once capable of extraordinary feats, suggesting a time when elephants ruled not just the land, but also the skies above.

THE JEWELLERY

Introducing Hawaraj Earrings, a tribute to the Gond legend of winged elephants celestial origins and its earthly fate. These stunning earrings, showcase the majestic elephant rendered  in layered wood and hand painted traditional Gond patterns. Encased in gold dipped brass, highlighting the Mahua pod shaped winged ears and gold leaf trunk root the design clearly to the lush forest of Gondvani bridging the gap between sky and earth. As you adorn these Havaraj Earrings, feel the weight of the ancient lore and the lightness of imagination  May they inspire you to see the world through the lens of Gond wisdom, where the boundary between earth and heaven is as fluid as an elephant's forgotten flight.
