GULIKAN THEYYAM EARRING

Gulikan Theyyam is one of the most feared and respected manifestations in the Theyyam tradition. According to mythology, Gulikan emerged from Lord Shiva's third eye during the churning of the cosmic ocean, tasked with maintaining the balance between life and death. The performance, marked by intense movements and a distinctive black and red and white facial design, is believed to ward off evil and protect devotees from negative forces.

The collection draws inspiration from Gulikan's fierce energy which is  captured through bold geometric patterns and dramatic colour contrasts. The towering mudi (headgear) symbolises the cosmic power and authority. Each handcrafted piece serves as a bridge between ancient wisdom and contemporary expression, preserving the essence of these profound traditions in wearable form.

All pieces are crafted and hand painted by artists in our studio in Mumbai, under small batch production.
