THE LEGEND

Gond folklore tells of the 'Titti Cherai', a remarkable little bird with an extraordinary resting habit. Unlike other birds, she would sleep on her back with her feet pointed skyward. The elders say she did this out of fear that the heavens might fall, threatening her eggs. By keeping her feet raised, she stood ready to protect her offspring. This small bird's devotion symbolises a mother's limitless love. Her tale, passed through generations, reminds the Gond of the strength in small creatures and the power of maternal instinct.

THE JEWELLERY

These exquisite 'Tithi Charai' earrings bring to life the Gond folklore of the vigilant mother bird. Hand-painted with signature Gond patterns, the bird's delicate form and posture embodies eternal vigilance. Nestled beneath the watchful mother are three tiny eggs with suspended glass beads that complete the narrative. More than mere adornments, these earrings are wearable stories celebrating Gond wisdom, a mother's love, and the enduring spirit of nature's small wonders.

All pieces are crafted and hand painted by artists in our studio in Mumbai, under small batch production.
