Gond lore portrays elephants as magical guardians of the forest. When humans recklessly exploited nature's gifts, these majestic creatures took decisive action. These mighty creatures chose to safeguard the forest by carrying it away on their  backs, rescuing their home from human carelessness. This tale speaks to the profound connection between nature and its guardians, serving as a poignant reminder of our responsibility to respect and preserve the natural world.

THE JEWELLERY

Van Raja earrings, inspired by the enchanting Gond tale of the elephants safeguarding nature's treasures.  Mahua pod-shaped leaves and intertwined leaf-trunks symbolise the mystical forest and the deep bond between elephants and their woodland home.
Each earring is meticulously hand painted  in traditional Gond pattern with vibrant hues of greens and blues, complemented by the luster of gold-dipped brass. 
As you adorn yourself with these Van Raja earrings, you'll feel connected to ancient wisdom and our shared responsibility to protect nature's gifts. They're a beautiful reminder of the Gond belief that every creature, big or small, plays a part in keeping our world in balance. 

All pieces are crafted and hand painted by artists in our studio in Mumbai, under small batch production.
